Recipe of the month

Feeding the family when you're busy can be challenging. Especially when you have a house full of people who all like different things. Here is a quick meal that everyone can customize to their own liking and can be gluten free, dairy free and stress free!

I am gluten and dairy free, my husband would like nothing better than a burger every night, my kids want cheese and ketchup at every meal. What is a busy mom to do? Pinterest gives me a ton of ideas but none really fit the bill so I smash a bunch of ideas together and this is born...

Is it a salad, a burger, a wrap? It anything you want it to be. Seriously.

My daughter and I had it as a salad, one person put it on a burger roll, the others stuck it in a wrap and went back to their video game. Everyone was fed and I was out of the kitchen in record time.

I, unfortunately, never snapped a picture.

What I did do is grab some grassfed ground beef and toss in some spices, gather up the burger toppings and some leftovers and chop up some organic romaine. A dressing came together that was reminiscent of my former fast food loving days. ANnd dinner was served. Burgers your way...

Burger Salad Bowls

perfect to make a head and use up the picnic leftovers

  • 2 pounds grass fed ground beef

  • 2 tsp paprika ( I used half regular half smoked)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • salt and pepper

Saute beef until browned and add in spices while cooking.

  • 4 Tbsp mayo

  • 4 Tbsp milk substitute- I prefer coconut

  • 2 Tbsp fresh minced onion

  • 2 tsp pickle juice

  • 2 tsp mustard

  • pinch of sea salt

I have given you a couple links to my favorites ( they are affiliate links and I will get something if you purchase) however, I want you to see them and be able to read the labels so you can go find them yourself if you have the inclination. If not, thanks for your support!

MIx up the dressing ingredients and set aside.

I pulled the romaine, pickles, avocado, tomatoes, leftover potatoes, red cabbage, bacon, shredded cheese, whatever you want to put on a burger or eat with a burger and set it out salad bar style and we went to town.

Get Inspired

Make this your own. Serve it over rice, quinoa, make sliders. Tell me how you customized it for your family. All I know, the people were fed and were happy, and my fridge got rid of all sorts of things that would never had gotten eaten, like that last ear of corn and the last baked potato!!
